THE RED-PAK PROGRAM
We provide Red-Paks filled with feminine hygiene/period products of pads or tampons, postpartum maternity pads, or bladder leakage products. We partner with facilities such as homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, schools, and social and human service organizations that house or provide services to those experiencing poverty or homelessness. We provide free Red-Pak period and bladder leakage products to those in need who may be low to no income and cannot afford to purchase them. Through our Und-Her-Wear Program, we provide bras, nursing bras, maternity bras, and underwear. #StopPeriodPoverty #WeDeliverDignity #WeAreDeliveringHope
Facts About Period Poverty
A 2021 survey revealed that nearly a quarter of teenage students in the U.S. experienced period poverty - the inability to access menstrual hygiene products. Furthermore, half of the students surveyed have worn products longer than recommended. (Teenage students experiencing period poverty U.S. 2021 | Statista, 2021)
Lack of access to feminine hygiene sanitary products for women can be a devastating reality as well as a danger to their health, physically and mentally. Many of these women use unhealthy methods including reusing socks, using paper towels, and/or toilet paper which do not protect them from leakage.
Lack of access to feminine hygiene sanitary products can also be a life-stopping issue for girls who may miss school and women who may miss days at work which can affect their paycheck.
"Ronan and I would like to give an HUGE thank you to you and your organization. Because of you, Ronan has diapers and wipes and I have feminine products which I was struggling to afford. We cannot express how grateful we are." Katie M.
