The mission of Kabod House International is to provide tools and resources that will eradicate poverty and enrich the lives of the homeless /unhoused living on the streets in the Chicagoland area, and to low-to-no-income women, girls, and infant children.

Our vision is a world where everyone’s basic needs are met and poverty is a memory of the past.

Kabod House International offers outreach programs that inspire hope to those who have lost hope, help to those who are helpless and disadvantaged, and restoration of dignity. Our outreach programs focus on meeting basic needs and more, by helping those who are not able to sustain themselves.

Our Founder

Roberta M. Coleman is the Founder/President/CEO/ED of Kabod House International. Her passion and heart are for the homeless/unhoused.

Her vision for Kabod House International is to become a trailblazing organization that offers unique and needed outreach services to the homeless and low-to-no-income populations in the Chicagoland area. The programs include delivering care packages filled with feminine hygiene personal care products and personal hygiene products to women and men living in poverty, Winter coats and toys for homeless and foster care children at a local elementary school partner and at homeless shelters. She believes that helping those in need by giving them what they need instead of what we may think they need can help to bring them hope and let them know that they are thought of and not just as a statistic. She is quoted as saying, "The people need more than just a handout, they need a hand to pull them up and out." She wants those in need to know there is an organization that cares enough about helping them by bringing services with a smile right to them.

Roberta is a graduate from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors's degree in Human Services and is currently completing her MBA degree in Nonprofit Management at National Louis University.
